{"id":128,"date":"2015-09-24T20:30:13","date_gmt":"2015-09-24T20:30:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bills-soapbox.com\/?p=128"},"modified":"2015-09-24T20:34:36","modified_gmt":"2015-09-24T20:34:36","slug":"papal-visit-with-congress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bills-soapbox.com\/?p=128","title":{"rendered":"Papal Visit with Congress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">So the Pope addressed a joint session of Congress today and as expected brought up the issue of immigration\u2026 especially how the United States should have compassion and leniency towards the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants coming into this country every year from Mexico and Latin America.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">He also touched on the idea that with all of the worlds great resources and wealth that there is no excuse for anyone on planet Earth to be homeless.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">That\u2019s where it gets interesting to me\u2026 that very few people are willing to call the man out\u00a0as a hypocrite. He resides over what is called Vatican City, which is a country all on its own and has the strictest immigration and citizenship requirements on the planet. I can picture thousands and thousands of vacant square footage of space\u00a0that is guarded\u00a0nightly to prevent any homeless from finding a warm bed to sleep in or a decent meal to eat within those holy walls.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Maybe I\u2019ll start listening to the Pope\u2019s lecture when he starts using a substantial amount of the Vatican\u2019s enormous wealth to feed, cloth\u00a0and house those in need.
