The Silly Season is about to get underway… The first of the 2016 Presidential Primaries is going to happen in Iowa on Monday. That is if you can call what they do in Iowa a vote. I’m not convinced that anyone knows exactly how they decide who wins and who looses. Caucasus participants are forced to endure hours of boring speeches and protocol and in the end nobody takes a tally of how many people support each candidate, but a winner is ultimately declared.
As screwed up as the process in Iowa is, it boggles my mind that everyone puts so much credibility to the outcome. It’s the first of 52 primaries that are to take place and in respect to population Iowa ranks 30th with less than 1% of the US population. The second primary in New Hampshire represents about one third that of Iowa, but again all eyes are looking at who comes out on top and they are already saying if Trump wins both states that its all over????
Usually it comes down to holding your nose as you vote for one of the two viable choices on the ballot in November. This year the stench is almost unbearable and the primary voting hasn’t even begun.
