The video taken by Keith Scott’s wife during her husband’s altercation with police and the eventual death of Scott was released by the family today. It has the wife repeating over and over that he doesn’t have a gun and not to shot. Then we hear the gun fire and we see Scott lying in the street and the wife now repeating he better not be dead.
I know that everyone with a smart phone has the capacity to create a video at any time. However, how is it that so many people seem to have the presents of mind to actually use their phone during such a tense emotionally charged situation such as the Scott shooting in Charlotte earlier this week?
Which brings up the question in my mind… what is the real reason Scott’s wife and so many others are basically viewing the tragic death of a loved one through the screen on their smart phone? And what is her motive for releasing it to the public? It doesn’t show what really happened between her husband and the police. You never see him get out of the truck; it doesn’t answer the question was he holding a gun or a book as some eyewitnesses have claimed. We only have the wife saying what ever in an attempt to defuse the situation and then a dead body in the street.
I have a feeling the true motive is to rekindle the mayhem and rioting that has dominated the scene for the last few days because people are going to see what they want to see. The family has been suddenly thrown into the National lime light; they have a high profile lawyer standing beside them ready to cash in on the death of a family member. They are using the media to try the case in the court of public opinion before any of the facts have been established.
