Once again an instant of animal cruelty has become the most important news story on the planet. Some lady put duck tape on her dog’s snoot to shut him up… took a picture of it and posted it on social media and the rest is history.
Of course the picture went viral as did the backlash towards the dog’s owner. Due to the numerous calls to the police they felt obligated to expend resources to track down the woman and have now brought animal cruelty charges against her despite the admission by the woman that the duck tape was only on the dog for one minute.
Is this what society has become? We react to anything on social media as if it’s personal. Hell when we see a picture on social media we don’t even know if it’s real; could be photo shopped. We don’t know if the duck tape was stuck to the dog’s nose or if the owner put two pieces together so the glue never was attached to the dog’s hair. There are numerous scenarios that would make this incident an innocent lapse of judgement, but that doesn’t matter to the masses that are just looking for something to bitch about.
The only thing I see this lady being guilty of is Stupidity. She was stupid enough to think the picture of her dog with duck tape on its nose was worthy for the whole world to see.
