Easy When You’re Rich

Bill Gates recently made the comment that nobody needs to be as rich as he is… I’m sure that it’s real easy to criticize and make such comments when you don’t have a clue what being poor or in the middle class is like. He plans on giving the bulk of his fortune to his foundation, which fights poverty and diseases in third world countries all over the planet. Of course that means that the kids are only going to get an amount that falls under the inheritance tax limits… poor souls are going to have to figure out how to live with a measly 9 or 10 million dollars. Gates also believes that he isn’t paying enough in taxes,…

Pope Says the Wealthy Feast on What Belongs to Us All

Sunday was World Day of the Poor… The Pope hosted 6,000 poor people for mass and then invited 1,500 indigent people to join him for lunch. So I guess the Pope thinks he’s doing his part to redistribute the billions of wealth he sits on. Even the wealthy Vatican apparently needs a special day to do anything for those less fortunate. I wonder how they made the determination that everyone of the participants were indeed needy? Did they vent each and every one of them? Were they required to submit some kind of financial statement to prove they were poor?  Something tells me that they used the honor system when allowing people in by just claiming to be poor. Actually…

Criminal Election Meddling

The Federal Government has handed down indictments charging 13 Russian individuals and 3 Russian companies with activities that were meant to, “sow discord in the U.S. political system, including the 2016 presidential election.” In other words they spread negative information about the candidates, including Hillary and Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. Apparently this activity is a criminal offense, so my question is why are we not throwing every person running for a political office in jail for doing the exact same thing by running negative ads against their opponents?

Super Bowl Advertisers

There always seems to be one or two commercials during the Super Bowl that make no sense what-so-ever and this years edition is being paid for by Stella Artois in cooperation with Water.org. The commercial is a serious message meant to enlighten the audience about the plight of getting clean water to the under-developed countries of the world. Stella Artois is selling limited edition chalices and will donate a portion of the sale to Water.org. Each glass sold will provide $3.13, which apparently is enough money to bring clean water to one person for five years. (The truth be know it probably cost the .13 cents to provide the water and the other $3 is to pay executive salaries and…

Seasteading

A story on Drudge is where I first heard of the term, which is the concept of living in a floating self-contained city. The non-profit group, Seasteading Intitute, based in San Francisco has been floating (forgive the pun) the idea since their formation in 2008. Funded by some sort of virtual currency they have gotten the blessing of the French Polynesia to use a portion of their coastal area to test and build the first floating island city. People since the dawn of man have been dreaming of such a utopia… seems now that we have an over abundance of billionaires who lean to the far left and have swallowed the climate change pill a serious attempt at creating just…

WTF Were These People Thinking

Canadian Joshua Boyle, his wife Caitlan Colemen and their three children were released by the Taliban in Afghanistan after being held in captivity for five years. In total the couple had four children, all born while in captivity. Boyle making the claim that one of the children was killed by their captors and that his wife on one occasion was raped by their guards… something the Taliban are quickly denying. Why does this whole story smell rotten to me? The wife was pregnant when they were taken captive so I can give them a pass for having one child born in captivity, but to reproduce another three times during the course of 5 years? Supposedly they were kept in a…

Media Deception

I hate the media and their continued efforts to show President Trump in a bad light. We’re being threatened by this nut case in North Korea. Several countries (including those that we aren’t all that friendly with) have joined together in initiating new strong sanctions against the rouge regime, which has Kim Jong Unl lashing out toward the United States with what we all hope are idle threats. However when President Trump comments: “He (Kim Jong Un) has been very threatening beyond a normal state. They will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before” the media conveniently leaves off the part that explains that he is responding to a…

Paris Accord

President Trump has pulled the United States out of the Paris Climate Accord and the liberal Trump haters are loosing their minds. They want us to believe that it’s all about the environment. If they were listening to the President speak yesterday when he made the announcement that he was pulling us out of the agreement then they choose to ignore every thing he said. President Trump’s decision isn’t because he doesn’t care about the environment, which he reiterated several times during his announcement; it was made because he’s putting a stop to the rest of the world using us for a door mat. The agreement is hugely lopsided against the United States both in regulations and monetary concerns. If…

Mark Zuckerberg Preaching Utopia

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, during his Harvard Commencement Speech said; “Every generation expands its definition of equality. Now it’s time for our generation to define a new social contract. We should have a society that measures progress not by economic metrics like GDP but by how many of us have a role we find meaningful. We should explore ideas like universal basic income to make sure everyone has a cushion to try new ideas.” Personally I think it’s dangerous to be filling our graduate’s minds with the idea that the government should just give everyone a basic living wage… especially when there is nothing expected of them in return. We’re raising a generation of lazy uninspired idealistic morons who think…

In Need of Target Practice

French police guarding the Louvre museum in Paris were attacked by a machete wielding Islamic Terrorist and was shot 5 times. The first thing that came to my mind when I heard this story was… damn, can’t the French police shoot better than that? This guy should be dead right now. So now I can imagine that they will nurse this maniac’s wounds and then give him room and board for the rest of his life. What a waste of money.
