Can We Trust The FBI?

The FBI announced today that with the aid of a third party they have successfully unlocked that I-Phone that they had previously sued Apple to force the company to write new software to bypass the security/privacy settings on the phone.

I heard a report that the data retrieved was encrypted and that it would take the government time to decipher the information.

Personally I think it’s all a scam… the FBI needed a way out that would save face since the courts were siding with Apple. So the FBI has fabricated this story about finding a way into the phone’s databanks without Apples help. That’s why they have also said the data is encrypted… it gives them time for the general public and the press to forget all about the case. In the meantime all we will hear from the Feds is they are still working on decoding the information.

Another bit of information that makes me suspect about the FBI’s claim to have hacked into the I-Phone is the fact that they refuse to tell Apple how they got into the phone so Apple could plug whatever vulnerability they have discovered. Because the hack is a hoax.
