Will 2020 Be The Year We Embrace Socialism

The 2020 presidential race is shaping up to possibly be a pivotal year in our countries history… It may well be the year that the left seizes control of our government and every aspect of our lives with a strict socialist agenda. It seems that all of those who are throwing their hats into the ring to become the next Democrat nominee feel the path to victory is to promise a total nanny state to those too ignorant to understand that it will not work here just as it has failed everyplace else on the planet.

We’re already seeing how embolden the extreme liberal arm of the Democrat party has become with the introduction of the New Green Deal legislation in congress. It promises free education, free healthcare, a guaranteed living wage job, guaranteed housing, guaranteed paid vacation, sick time and maternity leave. It also imposes new energy efficient building codes that will be retroactive to every structure ever built. It’s going to eliminate our petroleum based energy industry and replace it with 100% renewable energy sources. Get the idea… government is going to have us by the short hairs. So how do they think they are going to pay for all of these new government entitlement programs? The legislation imposes an income tax as high as 90% on some wage earners… it imposes a wealth tax equal to 10% a year of your total wealth (no matter where on the planet you move it to.) In other words they plan on taxing the rich to death. The one question I never hear anyone ask when the left starts talking about the rich not paying their fair share is… What exactly do you think is their fair share. The top 5% of wage earners pay something like 80% of all the income taxes already.

I certainly hope that I’m all wrong and the voters are more intelligent than to give power to the extreme socialist arm of the Democrat party, however there is no fixing stupid and we seem to have an awfully lot of those in this country.
