Ben Affleck is under fire and I really don’t understand why there is such an uproar… apparently during the search of Affleck’s ancestry for the show on PBS called Finding Your Roots it was discovered that one of his distant relatives owned slaves. Being embarrassed by that fact Affleck lobbied and ultimately convinced the directors to purge that information from the show.
So what do we know?
A distant relative of Ben Affleck was a slave owner during a time when it was legal and morally accepted to do so and being embarrassed by that information Affleck asked the producers not to use it for the show.
So I have to repeat myself… why such an uproar? If we put our thinking caps on and analyze the facts with an investigative eye and ask the question who stands to benefit by this information becoming public knowledge it leads you right back to the PBS show Finding Your Roots. Chances are if there was a 30 second bit during the show that reveled that Affleck had ancestors who were slave owners it would never become a controversial topic, however if after the show has been out there for a while it’s an easy chore to leak the information to the right race whores and let them run wild with it in the press and all of a sudden the show is getting mentioned on every outlet that believes they are reporting news.
So in my mind its case closed. The media was lead around on a leash and once again the race card has been played on us all.
