Obama Leaves Office

It didn’t happen soon enough for me, but when it did happen there was one thing that surprised me and one thing that didn’t. The thing that surprised me is that he didn’t give Hillary Clinton a blanket pardon. Obviously she never asked for one because Obama would have gladly obliged. The good thing about this is it leaves the Clintons open to prosecution for any of the past illegal and immoral activities. The thing that didn’t surprise me is how Obama felt it necessary to waste approx. $1.8 million taxpayer dollars so that he could fly on the Presidential Plane to Palm Springs, CA for vacation immediately upon leaving office. I consider that last slap in the face of every hard…

A Lot of Sore Losers

I just finished watching President Elect Donald Trump and his first formal news conference as president elect and it amazes me that the main street media is still acting like a pack of rabid dogs going after any tid bit of information that will make Trump look bad. I was watching the event live on CNN and when it was over the newscasters spent the next 15 minutes falling over each other trying to justify their recent reporting of the Russian Hacking story, which Trump had criticized them for some glaring errors. The other sore loser in the lime light recently is none other than the Big O himself. During his farewell speech last night, which was very painful to…

I’ve Got to Go… But Where?

With all the problems that this country faces I find it amazing that we’re so focused on regulating which bathroom we should be using. For decades it’s been a no brainer. Boys used the boy’s facility and girls used the girl’s facility. All this transgender crap that we’re hearing about now is just that… Crap! What’s wrong with if you look and dress like a girl you use the girl’s room. If you look and dress like a boy you use the boy’s room. Does anyone really think we need to be posting the potty police outside our public bathrooms to do a crotch check prior to admittance? Wake up American, get your head out of your butt and let…

US Postal Service Making History

April 10th will be a monumental day in the history of the United States… the post office is set to lower the price of a first class stamp by two cents. It’s got to be a first for the postal service. The drop in price has nothing to do with any improvement to the fiscal health of the postal service, it apparently stems from a price increase years ago that was tied to a clause that as soon as the post office recouped lost revenue due to the last recession that the increase would roll back. It comes as no surprise to me that the federal government has gauged the fiscal success of the postal service by a 20% drop…

Oscar, Pure White Under All That Gold?

The Oscar nominations were announced yesterday and once again certain race baiters have pointed out the lack of nominees of color implying that the Motion Picture Academy is nothing but a bunch of racist old white folk. Angel from the morning radio show The Monsters in the Morning was making the argument that most of the 6,000 members of the Motion Picture Academy that vote for the nominees don’t have the time or the interest to watch the lesser known and therefore often overlooked movies featuring black actors, producers and directors. I’d take that thought just a little bit further and make the argument that if the object of making a movie for our black actors, producers and directors was…

The Wiz

I watched the live performance of the Wiz last night on NBC… The costumes were great and the show as a whole was entertaining, however there was one slight deviation that they took from the original story that left me wandering… ‘What the hell were they thinking’? When it came time for the Wiz to send Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman and the Lion on their quest to prove they were worthy it wasn’t to bring back the wicked witch’s broom they were told to outright kill her. Now I grant you in the original story Dorothy splashes water on the old hag, which causes her to melt and she’s dead. However, they didn’t set out to kill her it was an…

Animal Cruelty or Just Plain Stupidity?

Once again an instant of animal cruelty has become the most important news story on the planet. Some lady put duck tape on her dog’s snoot to shut him up… took a picture of it and posted it on social media and the rest is history. Of course the picture went viral as did the backlash towards the dog’s owner. Due to the numerous calls to the police they felt obligated to expend resources to track down the woman and have now brought animal cruelty charges against her despite the admission by the woman that the duck tape was only on the dog for one minute. Is this what society has become? We react to anything on social media as…

Pope Sweeps Philly

The Pope made a stop in Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, where he presided over mass to an estimated 1 million people. The city felt the need to do a sweep before the event and it was necessary to do a massive sweep after the event. Seems for security reasons the homeless that populated the event location were told to leave and anything that was left behind would be thrown away… What compassion seeing the main event was a man who is telling people everywhere that they should be working to eliminate homelessness. After the event was over and the crowds had all gone home what was left was a huge mess. Trash everywhere that needed to be cleaned up. Is…

NFL Draft

I don’t know if it’s just me, but doesn’t the NFL Draft resemble a Slave Auction from the early days of history? You have a bunch of rich team owners getting together to buy and sell human flesh. I guess the whole process is okay with the NAACP as long as there are huge sums of money attached to the transaction.

Ben Affleck’s Ancestor – Slave Owner

Ben Affleck is under fire and I really don’t understand why there is such an uproar… apparently during the search of Affleck’s ancestry for the show on PBS called Finding Your Roots it was discovered that one of his distant relatives owned slaves. Being embarrassed by that fact Affleck lobbied and ultimately convinced the directors to purge that information from the show. So what do we know? A distant relative of Ben Affleck was a slave owner during a time when it was legal and morally accepted to do so and being embarrassed by that information Affleck asked the producers not to use it for the show. So I have to repeat myself… why such an uproar? If we put…
