Amazon is owned by one of the richest men on the planet and the article never mentioned how much he pays in federal income taxes on a personal level. Stockton, California is getting ready to experiment with Universal Basic Income or UBI. I’m sure we’re going to hear a lot about this concept during the next few elections as the Liberals and Socialist candidates pull out all the stops to lure voters. The idea is to give those residents who are not making what they feel is a basic standard income a check to make up the difference. We’re hearing all this gloom and doom predictions about the cost of a government shutdown… what a burden it will be on a huge segment of the population if our non-essential government workers are told to stay home presumably without pay. Let’s start with debunking the idea that our government work force is going to be sent home without pay.
